Reduction of inappropriate behaviors while using Computer-Based Intervention for Individuals with Autism

I had an interesting conversation recently with a colleague and software designer. She mentioned that the studies show that when children use computer-based training that they have a reduction in inappropriate behaviors. I guess another way to word this would be to say that they are more attentive and focused when training on computer-based programs. This comment came as a surprise to me, but as I thought about it, I don’t know why I felt that way. This is exactly what I have been saying for years. Kids with autism are more focused and attentive while learning on a computer.
